Quoting out of context, abstraction, accent – subtypes of ambiguity
Quoting out of context is a typical creationist ploy on websites and Usenet groups. Short fallacious quotes that change their meaning when shortened and quoted out of context are used within straw man fallacies and fallacious appeals to authority.
